Evidence:  Plan describes efforts to recruit highly qualified staff to better meet the individual needs of all students.
   

4.1    Introductory training is offered to new staff.    A mentoring program is in place for training new staff.    A mentoring program and formal training process are in place to train new staff members.

Included in this section is a summary of the Mentoring Program being used at Umonhon Nation Public School.   

In addition to the mentoring program, all new staff receives a full day of orientation on the first day of the contract year.  During this orientation, new staff is taken to lunch with the school board and they are given a tour of the community. A knowledgeable member of the staff gives an overview of customs and practices unique to the Umonhon culture that are important to know in order to teach more successfully at our school.
