Huthuga!
In 2004 New York composer Stacey Fox created a special piece of music for the Omaha Nation students.
Stacey worked with elders of the tribe to learn some of the culture and
music of the people, stayed for days at a time, and steeped herself in
the ways of the people.
Then she returned to New York and started working on the composition.
In Sptember of 2003 Stacey sent the finished composition to us at Macy, and we started working.
By August 2004, the band, made up of students, alumni, and community friends, was ready for the big premiere.
