Native American Name
In the Pawnee tribe, the name for horseweed is "Tashka". There weren't any other Native American name for it.
Description
The life span is annual the growth formal is for band it's and native plant. Its flower date is in between June and September the leaves are alternate it surfaces coarsely hirsute to hairless (3-10cm long 2-10mm wide) margins entire to few toothed.
Location and Habitats
Nebraska on rangeland and on our reservation in grows mostly on gardens, waste land, and cultivated fields.
Uses
Used this plant as an astringent and settlers used it to treat internal hemorrhage, diarrhea and dysentery. Sap has also been applied externally in the treatment of warts. Normal doses can cause drowsiness excess causes restlessness and overdose can cause death through cardiac paralysis. This plant is not use as a today because it is poisonous if you cook the raw or it stems you might get something wrong with your body inside. I see no recipes about this weed or any way to cook it.
