Nebraska Response-to-Intervention Consortium Website
The Nebraska Department of Education, via the Nebraska Response-to-Intervention (RtI) Consortium, is preparing schools to deliver RtI services by means of a state-wide implementation plan, training, evaluation and dissemination of results, and oversight of a quality implementation process. This website provides materials, information, and guidelines to support RtI implementation in the state of Nebraska.

DIBELS
The Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) are a set of procedures and measures for assessing the acquisition of early literacy skills from kindergarten through sixth grade. They are designed to be short (one minute) fluency measures used to regularly monitor the development of early literacy and early reading skills.

AIMSWeb
AIMSweb is a progress monitoring system based on direct, frequent and continuous student assessment. The results are reported to students, parents, teachers and administrators via a web-based data management and reporting system to determine response to intervention.

This is the Northwest Regional Lab site that provides information and resources on the 6 Traits of Writing.

Punctuation Paintball at I Know That: This is an on-line game that provides a fun way to work on the 6 Trait area of Conventions.

Discover Writing for Students: Has great ideas, inspiration and links.

The Five Paragraph Essay: This website offers a bare bones approach to writing an acceptable essay.

The Andover Reader: Contains student writing examples and "good leading questions" to use for instruction or student inspiration.

The Writing Fix Focus on 6-Trait Writing: Has links to literature prompts, revision "post-its" for each trait, and a number of great resources.

The Scriptorium: This is a place set aside for writing. Self-described as a "young writers' resource webzine" this site adds new "stuff" every month, and focuses on providing a forum for young writers.

The National Council of Teachers of English: A great site for the classroom, students and parents. A large collection of teacher resources, a policy research section and information about standards.

One Hundred Best Books: This site includes a listing of the 100 best books and authors for all ages. Use this site to inspire classroom writers. A listing at the site includes childhood favorites and a sampling for young adults.

Language Arts Sites for Students: This is a web site for all ages and abilities with information on 6-Trait writing, writing with writers, graphic organizers, biographical writing, and the list goes on.

Teach Technology: This on-line teacher resource includes lesson plans, printable worksheets, preformatted rubrics, printable generators, teaching tips and themes, while listing 256,000 reviewed sites. For writing, click on the subject link to Language Arts and you will find a wealth of information from teaching tools to lesson plans and worksheets that relate to the topic of writing.

Hi! Welcome to my website :) I'm Amy Hill, a Staff Development Consultant at Educational Service Unit #1. I live in Wayne, Nebraska with my husband and our cats, Mercedes, Harley, Lexus, and Woobie, the neighborhood cat who has adopted us.

When I'm not working with school districts in ESU #1, you might spot me cheering on the Huskers, Wayne State Wildcats or Wayne High Blue Devils. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it be golfing, biking, walking, kayaking, traveling or photographing the scenery I currently am surrounded by. If I can't be outside, then you might catch me reading, scrapbooking, or enjoying my favorite pasttime - shopping!

Prior to coming to ESU #1 in the fall of 2000, I taught at Wayne Elementary in Wayne, NE. I graduated from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska and have a master's degree from Wayne State College, Wayne, NE. I'm originally from Treynor, Iowa where my parents and one of my sisters still reside. I'm also the proud aunt of Karleigh, Mackenzie, Hannah and Eli.
